This year’s top Navasota High School Senior had a little help applying to colleges across the country; and even had the chance for a free ride.
Celeste Tovar says she was first turned-on to a group called Quest Bridge by one of the schools’ earlier valedictorians.
Tovar tells Navasota News the program offered her a free way to apply to college. And on the group’s website, it boasts partnerships with some of the best, from Amherst to Yale.
The group asks students to rank their top four schools, and in her case it’s USC, Stanford, Yale and Princeton. If the schools accept the student, that means free tuition.
Unfortunately, Tovar continues, she was recently informed that not one of her four colleges picked her. But she isn’t letting that stop her, either.
Despite this, Tovar reports, the Quest Bridge program still lets her apply to a number of top colleges for free; a small consolation prize, but one she is using.
And while she figures out where she will go and what to study, Tovar hopes other Rattlers will also take advantage of Quest Bridge’s offer, and maybe get that free ride. For more visit www.questbridge.org
