Railroad Street project in Navasota slated for Spring completion

December 17, 2020 by Willy1550

Railroad Street here in Navasota has been blocked off for quite some time, due to ongoing improvements taking place there. But, when is all of that supposed to be finished?

City Manager Brad Stafford said, during the most recent episode of Grilling Stafford, some time in the next few months.

“Project is slated to be completed in the Spring, cannot remember the exact date. They did start bringing in theĀ  culverts…that is a very good sign. I talked to the contractor on Monday, they will start putting culverts in this week. At the same time, they have a subcontractor coming in to start on the sidewalk,” Stafford said.

Stafford also noted, though, that the sidewalk is currently open, and able to handle foot traffic.

“You can still access the Navasota Examiner and Revival Barbershop. Also, if you have any business with PA Smith or Rail and Rye, they are still accessible on Railroad Street. You have to walk, you have to park somewhere else and walk to it. But, it is open,” said Stafford.

If you have any questions, contact the city at 936-825-6475.
