Following a hard-fought triple-header against the Silsbee Tigers, Navasota High School’s Boys of Summer fell slightly short of their pursuit of a state title, bringing home a still-none-too-shabby 2nd place in the district competition.
Their coach tells Navasota News last weekend’s trio of games stated-off with a win for the Boys in Blue, featuring Dalton Acosta on the mound.
Amaro Villareal observes last weekend’s gloomy weather perfectly reflected similar scores on the board Friday and Saturday for the Rattlers.
Villareal says Saturday’s game was the last for the team’s seniors, and while he is saddened their season ended on a loss, he concludes his boys still did very well over all this season. More especially because of how little the rest of the competitors regarded the team being picked last for District.
And as our Rattler baseball team starts to prepare for the summer, it leaves the season with a 19-10-1 record. And we at Navasota News wish them the best of luck next year.
