Navasota rattler wide receiver Tren’Davian Dickson received an extremely rare honor last week. And while it’s not quite a one-in-a-million honor . . . It’s close.
All-America Games’ Micky Weeks was the first to the mic last Thursday in the Navasota High School Library, as he, and a half-dozen Army representatives, explained to the packed-out crowd why one of Navasota’s own was chosen for such a high honor.
Besides playing in next year’s All America Bowl, Dickson is now also eligible for a number of awards. And along with this honor, Navasota Head Coach Lee Fedora will also get to travel to San Antonio in January; both to take part in bowl week activities, and to attend the elite, three-day U.S. Army Coaches Academy.
Fedora says it’s a combination of Dickson’s skill on the field, and his humility both on and off, that make him the perfect All-American Bowl Candidate.
The annual East vs. West All-American Bowl match-up takes place in San Antonio’s Alamodome on Saturday, January the 16th, and will be broadcast live on NBC.
