Reduce, Reuse and Resale

October 16, 2014 by Willy1550

If you have extra junk in your actual trunk or doo-dads around your home, Keep Navasota Beautiful can help you get rid of them at this year’s city-wide garage sale.

Keep Navasota Beautiful’s Cindy Armatys tells Navasota News, garage sales are a great way to recycle items and keep them from taking up space in landfills. This is the 11th year for the event, she continues, which is a lot like most garage sales, the only difference is you have the city’s support.

The sale will be on November 1st, but you’ll need a $5 permit from the city. And if you get your paperwork in by this Friday (October 17th), you will be added to a map of the city that they will have printed.

Last year, Armatys says, about 52 home took part, though only 34 met the map deadline.

By taking part, she continues, you’ll not only help yourself, but also your community.

The city wide garage sale is so popular, she adds, some people call the city months ahead to find out when it’ll take place.

But you can’t take part without a five dollar permit, and you only have until 5 o’clock this Friday (10/17) to get yours from City Hall. For more, call 936-825-6450.
