While Texas A&M’s president continues to finalize recommendations about a space capacity study, one idea is getting publicity. Administrators have been researching what the university’s chief operating officer calls the “Aggie Loop”.
Peter Lange says this involves a company owned by Elon Musk building a network of underground tunnels with vehicles transporting people around campus.
Lange says the tunnels could accommodate 60 electric vehicles moving about 33 hundred people per hour.
Lange, whose 21-year career at A&M also includes directing transportation services, says Musk’s company built and operates underground tunnels in Las Vegas connecting hotels to the convention center.
