If you’re 12 or older, you’re invited to enjoy some 3-on-3 basketball action for a good cause Saturday, April 1st, at Navasota’s 1st Baptist Church.
Youth Minister Joe Lane says there are brackets for both boys and girls of all ages to sign-up in, with games taking place from 9 to 4 in the church gym, and medals that’ll be awarded to all the winners. They’re doing it to help fund the youth camp and missions trip this summer. Everybody loves basketball, so they thought it would be a fun way to raise some money.
Lane says it’s a Double Elimination tournament, so you’ll get at least two, 15 minute, 3-on-3, half-court games, with winners of each bracket getting prizes at the end.
You have up to four people on your team, Lane tells Navasota News, but only three can be on the court at a time. It’s only $15 a team before April 1st, or $20 if you sign up at the door before 8 on the morning of the tourney.
Lane says the money will go, at least in part, to fund a June trip to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they’ll be working with churches all over the Southwest helping people in areas that have suffered a lot of tornado damage, helping them learn how to help others.
Registration forms are online at fbcnavasota.org/youth, or call the church for more information, 936-825-6597.
