Restaurants Required to Post “Higher Awareness” Signage About Food Allergies with New State Law

There is a new state law affecting restaurants, requiring higher awareness about food allergies. Kelsey Erickson-Streufert with the Texas Restaurant Association says the goal of the new law is to make customers feel comfortable dining out.

The law is named after Sergio Lopez, a McAllen man, who was allergic to peanuts and died after eating a vegetarian taco.
