Retailer Conn’s HomePlus, which is based in The Woodlands, is closing its College Station location as part of its bankruptcy reorganization. Conn’s website shows 74 stores are closing in Texas.
That’s almost half of the 169 stores being closed in 14 states. According to the website, that would leave a handful of stores at a company that had employed more than four thousand people.
The more than 130 year old company was founded in Beaumont as a small plumbing and heating business.
