As you might have heard, City Manager of Navasota Brad Stafford is leaving public office on October 29th. It has just been talk, but finally, on the most recent Grilling Stafford, he gave some insight into his departure.
“I thought about this for awhile once I saw that question come in…like I have said before, I have 31 years in this business. I have been in three cities, and left all three in a much better place than I found. We have put a lot of pieces together to really set this city in motion for a lot more growth,” said Stafford.
“Sometimes, there comes a time where it is jus right, and I felt the time was just right. it is not because I am unhappy, or anything. I love Navasota, I am going to stay here…just, the timing was right.”
Stafford said, while he will not be sitting in actual interviews, he will at least get a slight hand in finding his replacement.
He said he had reached out to a few people, but council will have the final say. Stafford will be retiring from government all together to work in the private sector.
