A traffic stop on Highway 30 near the Grimes County line last Monday ended with the arrest of a Richards man.
That happened October 18th around 3 pm, when the officer stopped a 1992 Saturn for no front license plate. The officer noticed the three occupants begin moving toward the center of the vehicle upon activating his emergency lights.
The report states the driver thought he was being stopped for his vehicle registration being expired since April 2008. The driver, identified as 29 year old Nathan Richard Boggs of Richards, was asked to step out f the vehicle. A search f him, plus the car, yielded two marijuana pipes with residue. A further search of Boggs’ revealed a wrapper, which contained a small amount of crystal meth.
When it was found in his pocket, Boggs smiled and said “guess I should have checked that,” according to the report.
He was taken to the Brazos County jail on Possession of a Controlled Substance charges, and remains there on bonds totaling $3,000.
