The County of Grimes is one step closer to having a new Road and Bridge Administrator, following a four-hour marathon commissioners recently held behind closed doors, initially interviewing seven hopefuls, and eventually discarding four.
Grimes County Judge Ben Lehman says the three finalists not only represent a high pool of talent from which to choose, but all three of the road and bridge finalists already live relatively close.
And in addition to that, it looks like Grimes will be getting a Road and Bridge Engineer, and not just administrator, as all three have degrees; two from A&M, and the other from UT.
As a matter of fact, Leman tells Navasota News what impressed him most was the professionalism of all of the candidates.
The judge says the commissioners will be making their final decision when they again interview the finalists behind closed doors later this month. Once that’s determined, he says, the first job of the new guy will be to begin interviewing to take care of the current shorthanded condition of the county’s road and bridge crew.
