If you work at Navasota’s Texas Elwood Forge or live along County Road 123 just south-east of Iola, Grimes County’s Road and Bridge Engineer says your daily commute will get a little bit longer next (02/04-06) week.
Bob Cochrane tells Navasota News, traveling from Navasota, the construction won’t block the mobile home park on 419, but to get around it you’ll need to detour South on Business 6 and turn right on 452 next to the Elwood Forge sign.
Secondly Cochrane says a bridge along FM123 is going to be reinforced and paid for by Crimson Exploration.
He estimates the oil business is saving the county around $30,000 on the repair, this detour will add quite a bit of time to your drive. If you’re heading west on 123 to Iola, you’ll need to turn north on 124, west on 1696, and then south on 39.
These closures won’t start until Wednesday (02/04) of next week, Cochran explains. And if all goes well, the improvements will be finished before that weekend.
