Navasota High School’s former Offensive Coordinator just donned a pair of Owl’s wings as he begins rebuilding the Anderson-Shiro High School Football program.
Anderson-Shiro’s new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Shawn Witherwax says that after spending more than a decade under former Rattler Head Coach Lee Fedora, he made the decision to take on the Owls’ Head Coach position after his boss and friend decided to walk away from Navasota High.
Witherwax tells Navasota News he feels there is need for him to be at Anderson-Shiro and it surpasses the task of building up a winning tradition.
At Navasota High School, he continues, he helped build champions on and off the field, “We had success getting kids into college and into successful positions in life.” and now the coach is bringing that mentality to Anderson-Shiro.
And seeing the administration being eager to have him on-board and excited to see what he can do, coach adds, is almost as thrilling to him as seeing how eager the kids are to become a part of his team.
We at Navasota News wish Coach Witherwax and the Anderson-Shiro Owls the best of luck in the upcoming football season, when you’ll hear all about how they are doing at 1550 AM and online at www.navasotanews.com
