Sam Houston State employee pleads guilty to theft, misuse of non-profit funds

June 28, 2019 by Willy1550

An employee at Sam Houston State has been arrested and pleaded guilty to theft and misuse of funds from a non-profit organization.

Authorities say Terri Jaggers misused $45,000 from her non-profit, and will serve three days in jail for the third degree felony. The organization, Orphans Care Solutions of Texas, helps orphan children. Investigators say Jaggers used the money to buy personal items for her home, a cruise, trips for her and her husband and jewelry.

In addition, Jaggers will pay a $1,000 fine, serve seven years probation and be ordered to pay over $43,000 in restitution and give the remaining Orphan Care Solutions funds, totaling $47,000, to the Montgomery County CPS Board.
