SBA loans available for those affected by drought in Grimes County

October 29, 2019 by Andre Perrard

Burn bans might be going away around the area, but the effects of the drought this year continue to be evident. And due to the drought, the small business administration has announced economic injury disaster loans are available for much of the state, including grimes County and six other counties in the Brazos Valley.

Small non-farm businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private, non-profit organizations of any size may qualify for two million dollars to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had the disaster not occurred.

The SBA loans are also available in Brazos, Burleson, Milam, Robertson, Leon, and Washington counties.

Farmers, ranchers, and others primarily involved in agricultural enterprises have to contact their local Farm Service Agency office.
