Baylor Scott and White plans on opening a new clinic here in Navasota next year, and according to its vice president of clinic operations, they’ll be bringing a familiar provider with them, Dr. Jamie Benton.
Scott and White’s Linda Clark explains the initial plans call for a roughly 5,000 square foot facility to be built at the corner of the Highway 6 Feeder Road and Stacey Street. It’ll be open 9 to 5 weekdays with nine exam rooms and one treatment room. But she stresses that’s just the beginning.
Clark says they have the capability to add up to three more providers and their associated staff members. And while admitting that Dr. Benton’s desire to return here had a lot to do with the decision to open a new Navasota Clinic, Clark says hers are not the only Baylor Scott and White patients residing in the County of Grimes by a long shot.
There’s still one more City Council session to get through, Clark adds, then we can go ahead with gathering contractors, hopefully to begin construction to have the facility open sometime around the July time-frame.
So mark it on your calendar for next year, then keep it right here on 1550 for the next update as Baylor Scott and White’s new Navasota Community Clinic begins to come into being.
