December 13, 2021 by Andre Perrard

A car clocked going over 100 miles per hour crossing the Grimes County line was pulled over, with the driver now facing drug and weapon charges.

That happened Sunday afternoon, when a Brazos County Sheriff’s Office vehicle clocked the car at 110 miles per hour, while driving recklessly.

In the car was a driver, passenger and small child. The driver, 27 year old Stephan Dante Ellis of Bryan, was discovered t have a suspended license, plus a strong odor of marijuana could be smelled emitting from the vehicle.

A probable cause search yielded several small bags of marijuana. Also found was a silver Davis 32 automatic handgun.

Ellis was arrested, and charged with Possession of Marijuana under 2 Ounces, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. He was released that day after posting a $6,000 bond.
