April 8, 2024 by Willy1550

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash on SH 105 E just west of County Road 446 in Grimes County.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that on Friday, April 5th, at approximately 7:43a.m., a 2015 Freightliner truck was traveling Eastbound. A 2021 Nissan passenger car was traveling Westbound, crossed the center line, and struck the Freightliner head-on.

The driver of the Nissan, Kaylin Corbin, 29, of Benbrook, and a 3-year-old passenger were transported to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital with suspected serious injuries. A 4-year-old passenger was transported by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann with suspected serious injuries.

The front seat passenger, Jon Archer, 31, of Benbrook, was pronounced deceased on the scene by Grimes County Justice of the Peace Mark Laughlin.

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.

This is an ongoing investigation.
