Seven deaths, nine new cases added in weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update

Another 9 new cases added to the weekly Grimes County COVID-19 update, and 7 new deaths were added to the running toll as well.

According to the release sent out Monday evening, the county has seen 670 total cases since march 2020, which is an increase of 9 from last week. Of those, 328 cases have been in Navasota.

Active cases went up slightly, as there are now 72 active in Grimes County, which is up 7 from last week. And, of those 72 active, 35 are in Navasota, which is the same as last week.

In the recoveries, 578 people have recovered in the county, of which 293 have been in Navasota.

In the biggest jump this week, 7 new deaths were added to the running death total, which is now at 20 since March. Those deaths are not necessarily recorded in the last week, and could be from previous months awaiting death certificate confirmation.

In all, 9,642 tests have been performed.

In the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, after being on the COVID-19 dashboard last week, the Pack Unit and Luther Unit in Grimes County are no longer on the list for having active cases, as of October 26th.
