On Thursday August 31st around 4 PM, Navasota Police Officers responded to a business (McDonald’s) in the 8700 block of Hwy 6 for a report of a physical disturbance.
According to an NPD Press Release, an officer arrived on scene and attempted to break up two males physically fighting.
The officer requested assistance due to a crowd of 40-50 juveniles surrounding the fight. Several NPD officers responded and dispersed the crowd, consisting of 16-19 year-olds.
Several citations for disorderly conduct were issued.
According to a restaurant manager, the altercation involving several school-age students began in the restrooms, escalated into the dining and parking lot areas, and threats of gun violence were overheard.
Because of the potential risk to staff and customers, all school age students will be limited to 5 in the restaurant at a time after school. All orders will be to-go only and no student will be allowed to eat inside without being accompanied by an adult or parent, and no loitering on the property.
Families will be permitted to dine in with management approval at the door and drive-thru hours will remain the same.
