Shooting in Bedias leaves one person dead, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office looking for leads

October 15, 2021 by Willy1550

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal drive-by shooting that happened in Bedias last night.

Sheriff Don Sowell says they received calls around 11 pm Thursday night for shots fired on Leon Street.

“No suspect information, no suspect vehicle information at this time. Just random shots were fired into a crowd. They are checking areas for footage from cameras, so far they have not reported  have anything slid,” Sowell told Navasota News.

The victim had CPR performed on them as they were taken to the Madisonville Hospital, where they later died.

He says investigators are still out trying to determine what happened. The identity of the deceased has not been released yet, as investigators continue notifying next of kin.

No further information has been released.
