Shooting in Navasota sends one man to the hospital

January 8, 2020 by Andre Perrard

A shooting on Tuesday night in Navasota sent one man to the hospital.

Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt says the incident happened around 9 pm in the 600 block of Wades Way, behind Webb Elementary School.

He says two men got into an altercation due what appeared to be a domestic verbal argument, which became physical. One of the men then pulled a gun and shot the other.

The man that was shot was identified as 46 year old Raoul Enriquez of La Porte. He was taken to CHI St. Joseph in Bryan with a gunshot wound to the chest, initially in critical condition, but was last reported to be in stable condition on Wednesday morning.

The shooter, identified as 42 year old Kevin Mock of Plantersville, was found in his vehicle with minor injuries and in possession of a pistol.

Mock was booked into the Grimes County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.
