March 16, 2020 by Andre Perrard

A Washington County shooting last night has left one person dead and two others recovering.

Washington County deputies were called to the 20000 block of Washington Bridge Road around 9:45 pm last night, near the Grimes County line. According to the Sheriff’s Office, several vehicles were struck by bullets at the scene.

The Sheriffs Office identified 20 year old Derrick Anthony Davis Jr as the deceased person, saying he was shot at a business. He was taken to a Navasota hospital where he died later.

The two others that were injured were identified as 50 year old Patricia Ann-Coleman Cross and 29 year old Ronneisha Rutherford. Cross received a gunshot wound to the upper body and was later released from the hospital. Rutherford was grazed by a bullet and later released from a College Station hospital.

Navasota PD, Texas DPS and the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.

The cause of the shooting is still under investigation.
