Just as September was ending, the Bedias Civic Center opened its doors and let the smell of spaghetti and meatballs successfully lure in donations for it’s soon to be improved building.
Bedias Civic Association’s Janet Green tells Navasota News, the spaghetti dinner was an effort to fix up the center’s ailing roof. Spaghetti plates had no set price, but were by donation only. That way, she says, they actually get more from the community.
The center Green continues is a major part of the Bedais community. The hold potlucks every month and hold events to build fellowship amongst neighbors.
She says that’s what its all about, bringing people together. And its not just the locals who could benefit from the repairs as it is also a Red Cross station during emergencies.
Repairs to the roof are on hold, Green continues, until colder weather. But in the meantime she says you are cordially invited to still come on up to the center and enjoy some Bedais hospitality.
