Speeding on Highway 6 ends with Navasota man jailed on felony weapon charge

April 13, 2022 by Willy1550

Officers stopping a Chevrolet Camaro for going 107 miles per hour on Highway 6 results in a Navasota man in the Brazos County jail on a weapons charge.

The DPS arrest report says they stopped the car for travelling at that speed on Highway 6 southbound, and made contact with 21 year old Laryn Russell Nobles of Navasota. The officers immediately smelled marijuana, and Nobles advised he had smoked earlier in the day.

Officers notified Nobles they would conduct a search, and he advised he had a 9 mm pistol under the driver’s seat. Records showed Nobles was convicted of Burglary in 2018, and he was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Nobles was released after posting an $8,000 bond.
