Stolen vehicle stopped in Grimes County lands Brenham man in jail

January 27, 2022 by Andre Perrard

A Brenham man was arrested Tuesday morning in Grimes County after being found in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The College Station Police arrest report states that officers were looking for a stolen vehicle out of Bryan, and eventually pinged it entering Highway 6 in College Station.

Officers finally found it near the Westward Ho exit, and initiated a felony traffic stop on Highway 6, just north of Navasota near FM 3090. Upon speaking with 32 year old Aaron Lee Collins of Brenham, they discovered he was alone. Collins said he wanted to see an unidentified female in College Station, and asked to borrow his friends car.

Collins said it was his friend’s girlfriend’s car, and was asked if his friend had possibly stolen the vehicle, to which he replied “probably.”

He was arrested, and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and remains in jail on bonds totaling $5,000.
