Fire crews from Grimes County assisted with a Sunday fire that left some significant damage in the western part of Walker County.
The fire started on private property on Birdwell Road north of Highway 30 near Bedias.
The owners said a fire started inside of a mobile home on the property, spreading eventually to a nearby shop and into a wooded area, where it damaged tractors, vehicle and boats.
Owners of the property said they do not know how the blaze started. They were able to escape the blaze with no injuries.
According to the authorities, the fire burned about 15 acres.
Assisting in the fire was the Shiro and Bedias fire departments alongside the Texas Forest Service and others.
Other homes nearby were evacuated and no injuries were reported from the incident.
