Suspect in Bryan mass shooting identified as Iola man, as gunfire leaves one dead and six wounded

A Texas DPS Trooper and three others remain hospitalized after shootings in Bryan and Iola on Thursday afternoon.

That was after a shooting happened early Thursday at Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan, which shooting resulted in one person being killed and four others wounded. The Bryan Police arrest report says a co-worker heard three shots, which sounded like a staple gun. He said he then turned, and saw the shooter empty a handgun in the direction of the man who was killed. The shooter then reloaded, and started firing again.

Texas DPS tweeted that one of their troopers, identified as Juan Rojas Tovar from Madisonville, was pursuing someone connected the Bryan shooting, when he was shot near Iola through the windshield. Witnesses said he was shot in the eye, and other places.

The shooter in the Bryan incident was taken into custody in Bedias, but authorities could not rule out another suspect. The shooter was identified as 27 year old Larry Winston Bollin of Iola.

The employee shot and killed at Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan was identified as 40 year old Timothy Smith of Bryan.

Bryan PD reports that two of the six total people shot have been released. A third is critical, two more are stable, and Trooper Tovar remains in serious but stable condition.

Bollin is in the Brazos County jail on a murder charge, with bond set at $1 million dollars.

No motive has been release for the shooting.
