A suspected child molester from North Texas was apprehended in Brenham on Thursday.
According to the Corsicana Police, they had been investigating the man and obtained warrants for continuous sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child.
The man was identified as Daniel Burks, who left town before Corsicana Police could take him into custody. Authorities say they received a tip that Burks had escaped to Brenham, where Brenham Police tracked him down and found him barricades inside of a home.
Negotiations to get him out lasted for hours, but eventually police used tear gas to subdue Burks and arrest him.
