Swearing In And Getting To Business

January 8, 2015 by Willy1550

The new Grimes County Judge is wasting no time getting at it. Ben Lehman has called a special commissioners court meeting this Wednesday morning at 10 to put the county officially on the record opposing the proposed bullet train.

And though he didn’t know about either the train or transmission line before he decided to run, the new Grimes County Judge told Navasota News, new years morning, that it’s dealing with challenges like these that motivates him.

Prior to their swearing-in, both County Judge Lehman and new Precinct two Commissioner David Dobyanski laid out their 2015 priorities.

First, Lehman said, he wants to create what he calls a strategic plan, including a financial time-line, to help the court address all of these issues. And secondly, he wants to see an economic development effort to help fund them.

Due to the state’s special election Tuesday of next week, the first regular session of this year’s commissioners court will take place next Monday morning at 9 in the commissioners courtroom in the County Annex in Anderson.
