If you find yourself in need of a job these days, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice wants you to know that, with a need for Correctional Officers throughout the State of Texas, they are in need of you.
TDCJ Recruiter Kelsee Oliphant says pre-employment testing and job interviews are held weekday mornings at 7:45. The complete schedule is online. There’s absolutely no experience needed, but you do have to be at least 18 years old.
Following six weeks of academy training, she explains, you are assigned to a Unit where they will continue to train you. And not only is everything paid for, Oliphant continues, you’ll get paid beginning with the start of the academy.
Also, she continues, if you are a military vet, you can even skip the pre-employment test. To find all the details, including pay, go tdcj.texas.gov.
Once you get there, she says, you click on the “Employment” tab, scroll down to “Schedule a C.O. Screening.” Once you type in your Zip Code, you’ll be able to see a list of the upcoming screenings in your area.
Correctional Officer Screenings are held all over the State of Texas, Oliphant, adds, including at least one Saturday morning of every month right over in Huntsville. For more, she says, you can also call 936-437-4098, or toll-free 1-877-work4tx.
