The Iola community continues to mourn the loss of a 13 year old killed in a crash Wednesday night.
The DPS report says a 1997 GMC Yukon went off the roadway on FM 39, over corrected, then began rolling over. Two of the three passengers in the car were ejected.
The rear passenger, a 13 year old from Iola, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 17 year old driver was treated for injuries, and another passenger was unharmed.
Iola ISD announced yesterday as well that the varsity football game at Maud has been canceled for this evening. The volleyball game at Centerville will be played a 4 pm, and Centerville ISD also announced their gymnasium will be wearing maroon in support of the Bulldogs through the games.
No further information has been released.
