Iola ISD has ten students headed to regionals in UIL academic competitions.
The district announced on their Facebook page last Friday that several students placed in the district competition, to qualify for the regionals.
For writing, Chloe Vaugh qualified in Copy Editing, Cullen Walton qualified in both Editorial Writing and Headline Writing, Chris Bosquez qualified in Ready Writing, and Zoe Compian qualified in Feature Writing.
In mathematics, Jordyn Dickenson qualified in Number Sense, overall Mathematics, and Calculator Applications, which was won. Dickenson also took 1st overall in Science, and Chemistry.
Jack Doucet took 1st in Informative Speaking, and Chris Bosquez third in Persuasive Speaking.
Iola also had two first place teams. Their winning team in Calculator Applications consisted of Dickenson, Brian Crosby, Caden Zwick and Alyssa Costello. Iola also took first place as a team in Science, which included Dickenson, Crosby, and Zwick as well.
UIL Regionals will take place later this month.
