Texas A&M President Comments on University of Texas’ Decision to Raise Threshold for Free Tuition

November 21, 2024 by Willy1550

As the University of Texas system Board of Regents gets publicity for raising the threshold for free tuition and fees for in state undergraduate students, Texas A&M President Mark Welsh reminded reporters that there is a similar program for Aggie undergraduates.

And before the University of Texas’ announcement, Welsh received a request from the A&M system’s Board of Regents chairman and chancellor to meet about the governor’s executive order that continues freezing undergraduate tuition for the next two years.

The family income ceiling at A&M for free tuition and fees is $60,000. The ceiling at all nine University of Texas system universities rose from $65,000 to $100,000.
