Texas A&M student-athlete killed in Highway 105 collision

December 22, 2021 by Andre Perrard

Hydroplaning was to blame for a crash on Highway 105 Saturday which killed a Texas A&M student-athlete.

Around 11:25 am that day, a 2020 Nissan car was travelling westbound. A 2019 Dodge car, which was travelling at an unsafe speed for the wet roadway conditions according to DPS, began to hydroplane, hitting the Nissan going westbound head on.

18 year old Chance Gibson of the Woodlands was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grimes County Justice of the Peace Lester Underwood.

The driver in the Nissan, 50 year old Ann Taylor of San Antonio, was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries. NO update on her current condition is known.

DPS is still investigating the crash.
