Texas Central names operating partner for high speed rail

October 15, 2018 by Willy1550

Texas Central, the organization responsible for the possible implementation of the high speed rail stretching from Houston to Dallas, has named its operating partner.

A few weeks after securing a huge loan to maybe begin the construction process,Texas Central has announced that international railway Renfe will be the operator of the railway. The Spainsh based company is one of the world leaders in railway operations, running about 5,000 trains per day on about 7,500 miles of track. In Spain last year, the company was responsible for handling more than 487 million passengers and 19.6 million tons of freight.

The announcement comes about one week after Texas Central announced that they partnered with multi-national firm Salini Impregilo to lead the civil construction of the project.

Texas Central and its partners are refining construction planning and sequencing, guided by the Federal Railroad Amdinistration (FRA). The FRA is now working on a final environmental review that will help determine the projects timeline and final route.
