Texas legislature committees investigating winter storm power outages, energy pricing

March 1, 2021 by Willy1550

Multiple Texas legislature committees have started investigating the power outages and energy pricing following last week’s winter storms.

Grimes County state senator Charles Schwertner says there is time pressure due to natural gas pricing on the international market.

“This issue of paying bills, whether you are a customer with a large bill at home, or a municipality that has to pay your natural gas supply,” Schwertner said.

Schwertner, who is a member of the business and commerce committee, said recently on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs that they are not going to do anything else until they get done with the aftermath of the historic storms.
