Republican leaders are split over whether they should raise homestead exemptions or compress the tax rate, but those aren’t the only plans on the table. State Senator Sarah Eckhart of Austin worries they are at an impasse.
But Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick says he has reached out to House Speaker Dade Phelan to talk face to face and the two have met to discuss a deal. The Governor says he will keep calling special sessions until a deal is reached.
