Three new weekend COVID-19 cases in Grimes County, total now at 22

Another three positive cases of COVID-19 this weekend have brought the Grimes County total to 22.

The three confirmed cases were announced Friday and Saturday. The first patient is identified as a male in his 50s, currently hospitalized, who resides in the Navasota city limits. The Department of State Health Services continues to investigate that case.

The second case is a female in her 50s, exposed via community spread, who is not currently hospitalized. She resides in the 77363 zip code. The third patient is identified as a male in his 70s, currently hospitalized, who resides in the 77868 zip code.

So far, five of the 22 cases in Grimes County have recovered.

Grimes County and Navasota city officials urge citizen’s to continue following social distancing and large gathering guidelines.
