A child has died in Southwest Montgomery County after being found face down in a hot tub on Monday.
According to authorities, the incident happened around noon on Monday, at a home on Beth Marie Drive in Magnolia. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said an employee from a local pool company found the 20-month old face down in the tub.
A Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constable arrived first, and performed CPR on the child until other responders arrived. While the child was being transported, the ambulance he was in was involved in a crash on FM 1488. Details from the crash are unknown, and it is unclear if the boy suffered any injuries during that crash. From there, another ambulance transported the boy to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed to have died on Monday night.
As of now, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services have said they will not be pursuing charges.
The crash of the ambulance is currently under investigation.
