Lots of Christmas smiles are lighting up the faces of lotsa less fortunate kids in the County of Grimes today, thanks to the presents given out at the Chamber of Commerce with help from the Local Noon Lions Club Saturday at the annual Toys for Kids Toy Drive.
Chamber Executive Director Johnny McNally reports the chamber compiled a list of around 200 of them, from all over the county, and he is very pleased with the response that poured out of the community for this worthy cause.
McNally tells Navasota News this is the first time the chamber has been in charge of the annual event and is using the experience to hopefully expand the toy drive’s reach for next year.
The Noon Lions’ Rosalia Mendez says she was humbled by the amount of toys and money that she saw donated and distributed. And adds that thanks to you and your neighbors, nearly 80 needed Grimes County families will have a merrier Christmas this year.
