Traffic Stop In Anderson Leads To Arrest, Drugs And Weapon Charges

According to a Media Release from the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office,

“On April 1, 2024, a Grimes County Deputy was patrolling SH 90 in Anderson, at approximately 7:48PM, the Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that appeared to be displaying fictitious registration. The Deputy made contact with the driver and sole occupant who was identified as Stephanie McWiggins, who was traveling from Louisiana to Giddings, Texas.

The deputy detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. McWiggins tried to hand the deputy the marijuana, in attempt to get the deputy to not search the vehicle. As the deputy was searching the vehicle, he located 11.029 grams of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, and a revolver.

McWiggins was placed into custody and transported to the jail on charges of POCS PG1>4g<200g (F2) and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (MA).”
