Traffic Stop in Navasota Leads to Drug Bust

According to a press release from the City of Navasota,

“On Sunday, June 2nd, at approximately 1 a.m., Navasota Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan SUV near the intersection of Highway 6 Feeder Road and Spur 515 for a traffic violation.
The officer identified two subjects as Severo Lugo, age 41, out of Edinburg, TX and Michael Barnes, age 45, out of Hempstead, TX.

During the stop, the subjects became nervous and admitted to possessing marijuana, a search was conducted.

During the search, officers located several boxes containing thousands of nicotine vapes, over 1,000 grams of THC gummies, over 135 grams of pastries, several large bottles of nitrous oxide inhalants also known as “whippits”, THC cartridges, and other paraphernalia. Both Mr. Lugo and Mr. Barnes were charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 and possession of abusable aerosol with intent to inhale.”
