Traffic stop near Spring leads to shots fired, one arrest, and a manhunt for another suspect

February 4, 2021 by Andre Perrard

Shots fired at a traffic stop near Spring led to the arrest of one, and a manhunt still underway for another suspect.

That happened around 2 pm Wednesday, on I-45 near Rayford Road in Montgomery County. Texas DPS says that a trooper stopped a white pick up with two occupants inside. Both refused to identify themselves, and deputies called for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to identify them.

They were eventually identified as 29 year old Rebecca Orange, and 28 year old Tyler Goodson.

During the time the licenses were being run, Goodson jumped in the truck and drove away, while the Orange broke off on foot. The report says that as the Goodson was fleeing, he tried to run over the deputy and that led to deputies firing shots at the vehicle.

No one was injured during the exchange.

At last update, Rebecca Orange was in custody, but Tyler Goodson was still at large.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
