Lawyers, transmission lines and money. That’s on the mind of many Grimes County residents, as the fight against Centerpoint Energy continues, albeit quietly.
But the Concerned Citizen’s Property Owner Alliance’s Nancy Perry wants to turn up the volume this week by making a critical decision; which lawyer to hire. And whoever it is, she admits, it’s going to be a rough and pricey fight.
Perry says with a price tag of at least a quarter million dollars David S. Brown would fight to stop the transmission line completely. And he would cost even more, she explains, except he is already working for two Houston energy companies also against the transmission lines.
Perry describes her other option Mr.Brab Bailiff as more of a compromise between residents’ interests and the transmission line.
Perry urges anyone who stands to affected by the proposed line to come to the alliance’s next meeting at 6:30 Thursday evening May 14th, next door to Navasota Realty on South LaSalle. For more information, go to www.navasotarealtyinc.com or call 936-825-5094.
