Trial of former Art Council of Brazos Valley Executive Director delayed for fourth time

August 17, 2021 by Andre Perrard

For the fourth time, there has been a delay in the Brazos County district court trial of a former director of the Arts Council on charges of credit card abuse.

This week’s postponement comes from the district attorney’s office. According to court documents, there is an unidentified error in the indictment. And to correct the indictment, prosecutors are looking for an unidentified witness who was never contacted during the investigation and whose whereabouts are unknown.

The trial was postponed after potential jury members were in the courtroom preparing to go through jury selection.

Former Arts Council director Sylvia McMullen, who is accused of making an undisclosed number of credit card transactions in December 2018, remains out of jail on a ten thousand dollar bond.
