A convicted sex offender was caught after two day manhunt in Trinity County this weekend.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook live throughout the events of Thursday into Friday, where Sheriff Woody Wallace announced the apprehension of 55 year old Scott Colley of Trinity.
Around 3 am Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office got a call from a resident, who has issue recovering property from Colley. Deputies discovered Colley was a registered sex offender, and attempted to perform a compliance check, when he took off.
When officers returned to the home following the chase, they discovered an 18 year old woman who said she had been sexually assaulted. Warrants for Colley were then issued for charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Aggravated Kidnapping, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. A statement from the female said he was armed with a sawn off shotgun.
TDC specific scent blood hounds and pack hounds were utilized during the search, which was hampered by extreme heat. The hunt ended around 9 pm Friday, when Colley was spotted on FM 356, cornered, and arrested.

Colley also had warrants out of Grimes County for evading arrest, and a Parole Warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child with a Deadly Weapon.
