Two people from the Houston area were arrested for trying to break into a Navasota ATM.
It happened in the early morning hours on Thursday at the BBVA Compass drive-thru. Officers responded to the scene to find two subjects attempting to break into the ATM. As officers approached the two, they fled on foot, then evaded in a vehicle.
This led Navasota PD on a chase down Highway 6 southbound, all the way down to Highway 290 within Harris County. That is when the subjects stopped and both were taken into custody.
The two arrested were identified as 24 year old Jeremy Johnson of Missouri City and 21 year old Kyerica German of Houston. Both are being charged with evading on foot, evading in a motor vehicle (state jail felony), and theft of an ATM machine (first degree felony).
Due to Governor Greg Abbott declaring a State of Disaster on March 13th, certain criminal offenses can be enhanced by one degree.
Assisting Navasota PD was the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, Waller County Sheriff’s Office and Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
