Two Grimes County men were arrested over the weekend for driving while intoxicated.
The first of the two was an Iola man, who was stopped College Station PD Saturday afternoon. Upon contact with the driver, who said he was going to the gas station from his job in Bryan, the officer noticed slurred speech and struggles to balance. A field sobriety test was failed, and he was arrested, identified as 62 year old Terence Gregory Watkins of Iola.
It is Watkins’ second DWI, and was convicted of the offense in August of this year in Montgomery County. He remains in jail on bonds totaling $4,000.
On early Halloween morning, CSPD stopped another vehicle on Texas Avenue, for reports of the vehicle driving the wrong way. The driver admitted to attending a concert and having a few beers, and was heading to Northgate when he was pulled over. Inside the car were also open beer cans.
The man was given a sobriety test, which he failed, and arrested. He was identified as 19 year old Caleb Christopher Davilla of Navasota. He was charged with Driving under the Influence as a Minor, and released after posting bond.
